My name is Melinda Schludecker.  I am a Science Education graduate of Indiana State University.  While attending ISU, I received the Robert Noyce scholarship and the Charlotte Boener scholarship.  These scholarships gave me opportunities to learn beyond my degree and network with other future educators.   I have been teaching for the Vigo County School Corporation for six years.  During this time, I have taught Biology, Chemistry, and Integrated Chemistry-Physics.  I have coached Science Olympiad, Science Bowl, and Spell Bowl.  Both my Science Olympiad and Spell Bowl teams competed in the state competition.  Being a teacher is one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had.  Teachers are a foundational part of society.  Having content knowledge, compassion, and common sense are all essential qualities of a good teacher.  I have lived in Terre Haute with my husband and four children since 2004.
