The 部门 celebrates the exceptional accomplishments of undergraduate and graduate students in the LLL 部门 during the 2019-2020 academic year. OUTSTANDING UNDERGRADUATE GRADUATING SENIOR

Selected by LLL faculty each year for recognition by the College of Arts and Sciences as the 部门’s outstanding undergraduate student from among its graduating seniors.  

JULIE BEVILACQUA CUTTER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Given annually to a foreign-born student in good academic standing who is majoring or minoring full-time in language education.

OUTSTANDING GRADUATE ASSISTANT

Selected by LLL graduate faculty each year for recognition by the College of 研究生 and 澳门合法赌场官网 Studies as the 部门‘s outstanding graduate assistant.

MARY OLGA PETERS AWARD

The Mary Olga Peters scholarship was established in honor of Mary Olga Peters who served on the ISU faculty for 34 years and was chairperson of the LLL department for nine years (1954-63). The award is a department-wide award presented to a student majoring in the department who holds membership in Sigma Iota, plans to teach in a language, and demonstrates qualities of leadership and good character.

KAREN GRAESCH LUKENS SCHOLARHIP IN FRENCH

Selected by LLL 法国 faculty for recognition of excellence in 法国 studies. Recipient must be studying 法国 and pursuing a major in the 部门 of LLL.

德国

夏洛特W. GHURYE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS:

This award was at the bequest of Professor Charlotte W. Ghurye, Professor of 德国 at Indiana State University from 1968-1991, and is given to support 德国 studies at Indiana State. Recipients are chosen by the 德国 faculty based on their academic excellence in 德国. [foundation funded]

LILLIAN GAY BERRY MEMORIAL LATIN AWARD

Lillian Gay Berry Memorial 拉丁 Awards are granted annually from an endowment established in 1953 by Lillian Gay Berry, Indiana State University class of 1895. A professor of 拉丁 at Indiana University from 1902 to 1943, she was named an ISU Distinguished Alumna in 1957. Professor Berry died at the age of 90 in 1962. Recipients are selected on the basis of high quality of scholarship, character, and leadership.
